Climbing

Anyone who is anyone in Salzburg climbs. We have the impression that bouldering is the new “in” sport among the younger generation and Salzburg also offers you a number of opportunities to experience it.
Indoor
In the Salzburg climbing hall you can climb and boulder independently or take climbing and bouldering courses. The climbing hall has an indoor and outdoor area. There is also a climbing store so that you can equip yourself well for the sport, as well as the Scene Cafe to relax before or after climbing and socialize with other people.
You can come to the Boulderbar Salzburg to boulder on your own or to attend courses. The Boulderbar’s small café is also a great place to relax before or after bouldering and to socialize with other people.
Outdoor
In the center of Salzburg on the Mönchsberg, the Alpine Club has created a climbing garden. With a total of 12 climbing routes (difficulty levels 1-6+). If you don’t want to travel far, but still want to climb in nature and on rock, the Müllner Schanze might be the right place for you!
Climbing in the hustle and bustle of the city is possible at the Neutor climbing garden! There are a total of 10 routes (6a+ to 6c) to be climbed on the 40-metre-high wall. Climbing on the rock is permitted from July 1 to December 31. The climbing garden is closed the rest of the year due to bird nesting.
Would you like to climb outdoors and explore the city of Salzburg in a different way? Then take a closer look at the City Wall via ferrata! There are four different routes that lead up the Kapuzinerberg and to a beautiful view of Salzburg’s scenery. The via ferrata is closed between March 1 and June 30 due to bird breeding.
